The Slovenske gorice Hills are very well known for their vineyards, wich are spread on the best locations. One of the best locations is the hill Lahonak, situated between the towns Ormo and Ljutomer.
Drago Medved writes in his book Najlepe trte na Slovenskem (Slovenia's most beautifull vines ), 1994: »Lahonak is a very special hill. It is rounded off very nicely and the vine looks like the refined class, sitting in the classic theatre arena, sweeping gently down to the bottom of the plane.
The swiss family Pongratz, owner of the baroque castle in Dornava, planted the vine on the ridge of Lahonak as far back as in the 18th century.
The Kranjc Family also has a winegrowing tradition, for they own the southern slope of the hill for several generations. The Kranjc family started the winegrowing business in 1988.
The wines, produced on 4 hectares of vineyards (15000 vines), with we own today, ripen in the wine cellar, built in the heart of the vineyard as early as 1888.
The top quality wines age in the oak barrels; stainless steel containers keep the youth and the freshness of the couve wine of the house.
The very first wine, produced and bottled by the present landlord in 1983, is kept in the archive cellar, wich also keeps the wines of the best vintages. GPS Northing (N)
