Our wine cellar is located in the middle of the village of Gažon, on the ridge that winds from the Šmarje crossroad in the direction of Baredi above Izola.

VINEYARDS AND SITES
We grow nine top-quality varieties of grapes - the total number of grapevines is 40,000 - on 10 hectares in high, south-facing sites. These are mostly terraced crops. We adopted the traditional low cultivation form, which is not a secret in Istria anymore, because this is how most of the vineyards in our region are renewed.

The vineyards extend to the village. They descend on terraces from the highest point of a crest, at an altitude of pproximately 250 meters above sea level. where there are also the first springs of the Drnica River. The lowest terraces lie 150 meters lower. Our red grape varieties grow on higher sites, while our white varieties grow on lower sites. Because the sites face south, gavorable warm airflows are characterisic for them.
We do not fertilize our vineyards with mineral fertilizers. Due to the reducecd number of buds on the vine, and our endeavors for a unifomr, not-too-abundant growth, our grapes ripen evenly; we reach a steady quality without significant differences among the crops of individual vintages. In such a simple way, enriched with the latest insights, we achieve homogeneit of grape production, which is one of the most important factors for high-quality wines.

WINES
In the cellar, we produce our wine with love, respect for tradition, and a great deal of knowledge. We follow its needs and emphasize the structure and the richness of wine. We allow our wine to express in the bottle all the characteristics of the land and the region from where it comes. The higher alcohol content and prolonged aging in the cellar enable a smaller intake of enological substnces.
