Only a few hundred meters from Medvodje, the Stegovniški waterfall is reached by simply following the Stegovnik stream. An easy path leads below the waterfall and a bench waits by the abandoned hydroelectric plant to make viewing this natural wonder easier.
Over millions of years, the stream quietly deepened its bed and deposited the rock it carried from the mountain. It would end its flow quite imperceptibly in Tržiška Bistrica if the dark-grey and in places almost black dolomite did not block its way.In the spring or after heavy rains, a 15-meter high column of water rolls roaring over the winding layers of rock. 
Behind the waterfall, you can see the Stegovnik notch in the forested mountainside.
