Im immediate vicinity of the
Capuchin bridge there is the Capuchin church
with its library and monastery.
The church was built in Baroque period in 1709.
The church is special artistic value because the architecture had to follow the rules of beggar's order.
Precious manuscript of friar Romuald from 1721 is kept in the capuchin library next to incunabula and old religious books.
That manuscript is The passion of Škofja Loka
and it is the oldest preserved drama text written in Slovene language which was performed as passion procession through the streets of Škofja Loka again in 1999 after more than 200 years.
The history-theatric spectacle was performed by more than 600 performers.
The story of mankind from Adam and Eve to the death of Christ was seen by many people.
