Address: Bitnje, 4264 Bohinjska Bistrica

This former pilgrimage church is located south of the village of Bitnje. It was first mentioned in 1494. The present church was reconstructed in 1673. It is distinguished by a Baroque bell tower with a double onion dome from the end of the 17th century. The main church portal copies the Renaissance style. The large ?Golden Altar,? the largest and richest in the Bohinj region, and the sculpture of a sitting Mary with Jesus from between 1415 and 1420 are the most important items inside the church.
