From the Ljubljana-Koper expressway, turn off at the Logatec exit. Don’t miss the remarkable linden tree avenue along the road and the Pri Ipavcu gostilna Via Petkovec and Rovte, you reach Vrh sv. Treh kraljev (“Summit of Three Kings”) with its Gothic pilgrimage church on a wonderful lookout point. Across Medvedje Brdo and Godovič, you turn onto the Ljubljana-Idrija road and continue toward Vojsko. Here stands the Slovenija Partisan Printshop, a well-preserved monument from World War II. Cross the Idrijca River and visit the village of Ledina, where they still weave linen from flax they harvest themselves. Nearby you can walk a section of the Slovene Mountaineering Trail. Continue your ride through the Cerkljansko villages of Trebenče, Poče, and Gorje to the Ravenska jama cave with its snow-white aragonite formations. In the village of Zakojca, you’ll find the home of author France Bevk with its ethnology exhibition, and in the village of Zakriž, there is a remarkable church and an interesting old fruit dryer. End your ride with a good homemade meal in Cerkno (56).
