Črni Vrh was once renowned for its cottage industries (barrel making, bucket making, woodenware), but now it is oriented toward tourism and farming. The Črni Vrh plateau is a popular excursion point, and its small ski center and trails for cross-country skiing and sledding are particularly inviting.

Visitors who stop at the Pr’ Mark farm are offered dried meat products typical of Črni Vrh (also for sale), roast pork with žlikrofi (a sort of potato ravioli), and lamb in sauce.

They can also rent skis and bicycles and get directions to the mountain lodge on Mount Javorniki, to Divje jezero lake, to Mount Belca, the Franja Partisan Hospital, the observatory, the interesting Klavže dams on the Idrijca River . . .
