Between Luče and Solčava, above the eastern bank of the Savinja stream, there rises a needle-like column of rock, separated from the rest of the cliff-face by a 2-metre wide gap. The original route from the lower valley up into the Solčava District once ran through the 'eye of the needle'. Late last century, however, a new road was quarried out of the rock between the obelisk and the river.
