The great scientist, mathematician, military strategist, and artillery expert Baron Jurij Vega was born in Zagorica pri Moravčah in 1754.
Today his birth house contains a permanent exhibition on this important Slovene, in whose honour a crater on the moon was named.
The Bank of Slovenia has placed Jurij Vega on its 50-tolar banknote.
Nearby you can visit the Roman cemetery in Križevska vas and the ruins of a Roman castle.
