
The collections in the new
Slovenian Alpine Museum are the result of a long lasting collecting and efforts of individuals and clubs to preserve the memory and love to mountain world and all activities connected with it. The basis for the new mountaineering museum is the current
Triglav Museum Collection that will be complemented with objects and documentation, collected all over the Slovene territory.
Today, the Triglav Museum Collection comprises almost
2,000 inventory units the content of which mainly relates to Triglav Mountains. On top of the collection of museum objects, it includes also a rich collection of hut models, archive, photo archive, collection of old postcards and the entire collection of Mountain Journals, from the first edition until today. It also includes a
specialized library. The collections are managed by trained curators, restorers and conservators.
