The exhibition The Present and Presence brings together works by Slovenian, Balkan and Eastern European artists created from the 1960s to the present day. Themed on the concept of contemporaneity, it deals with various forms of time.

Part 3 of the exhibition features works created in public spaces, or more precisely, in the streets. During the period of Socialist rule, the public space interventions created by the Eastern European artists whose works are kept in the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova's Arteast 2000 collection, were gestures for democracy.

The exhibition showcases work by the following artists and art groups: Čto delat?, Nuša and Srečo Dragan, Tomislav Gotovac, Irwin, Milan Knížák, OHO, Dan Perjovschi, Tadej Pogačar & The P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Museum of Contemporary Art, Lotty Rosenfeld, Martina Ruhsam & Vlado Repnik, Škart, Endre Tót, Goran Trbuljak, and Želimir Žilnik. It also includes a selection of video works from the EVR Archives, and the archive of the Museum in the Streets.
