The ridge of Kolovrat is a transitory area between the Upper Soča Region in Slovenia and the Veneto Region in Italy.
The outdoor museum is located on the Kolovrat ridge with exceptionally favourable position for good panoramic views. In the time of the First World War the Italian army built here an extensive system of its third line of defence, called “linea d’armata”.
Departure: Access for the Outdoor museum Kolovrat is possible from three different directions. On the road between Kobarid and Tolmin, at the settlement Idrsko, turn towards the village Livek (5 km). At the crossroads in the centre of the village turn left towards Livške Ravne (4 km). From here, further gross three kilometres of asphalt road lead to the outdoor museum. The museum information board is located at a small parking site. From Tolmin you can reach Kolovrat, if you turn in village Volče for Solarij pass. Access is possible also from the Italian side.
