Koča na Golici mountain hut, , Jesenice, mountains hut alps cottage hiking alpine shelter, The hut is located on the viewing ridge of the south slope of Golica, close above the forest edge.   In the restaurant area there are 50 seats, a bar counter; there are 80 seats at the tables in front of the hut; there are 5 rooms with 26 beds, 15 communal beds; toilets, a washing room with cold water; the restaurant area is heated by the stove, running water, photo-voltage system (programme PHARE) and a generator for electricity, transport cable car. The view: There is a beautiful view from the hut but from the nearby peak of Golica the view is much more extensive. Towards the east there is the ridge of the Karavanke with Stol and Košuta, on the right lie the peaks of the Kamnik Alps; towards the southeast one can see across the Carniola Plain (gorenjska ravnina) from the Ljubljana Basin (Ljubljanska kotlina), the Inner Carniola Hills (Notranjsko hribovje) with Snežnik and farther; on the southside one can see the slopes of Golica towards the village Planina pod Golico and the hilly landscape towards the Sava Valley, on the other side above the valley rises Mežakla; towards the southwest and west spread the Julian Alps and one can clearly see the central part with Triglav and Škrlatica and on the north edge the Martuljek mountain group with Špik; towards the west ranges the west part of the Karavanke ridge with Klek, the nearby Hruški vrh and Kepa a little to the north; from the peak one can see the Carinthia side: the valley Rož, the Klagenfurt Basin (Celovška kotlina) with Klagenfurt and Vrbsko jezero Lake, on the west from it a smaller Baško jezero Lake and a larger Osojsko jezero Lake, and when the weather is clear one can see Nizke and Visoke Ture with Grossglockner as well. Access Car: the local asphalt road Jesenice-Planina pod Golico 4km, continuing along the forest road to the first Savska jama Cave 2km, from where along the old marked path 2h30. The BS Planina pod Golico (the local bus from Jesenice): from the guest house Dom pod Golico for some minutes along the road towards the Savske jame caves then left past the farm Betela and Dom tabornikov hut 2h30; from the guest house Dom pod Golico along the forest path across the alpine pasture Markeljnova planina and the saddle Suha 3h30. Interesting tours Golica (1835 m) 30 minutes; Klek (1753 m) across the saddle Jekljevo sedlo (1488 m) 2h; Rožca (1587 m) across the saddle Jekljevo sedlo and across the slope of Klek 2h30. There is the national border across all the peaks.
