The restored Smlednik Calvary, commissioned in 1772 by Baron Franc Smledniški, is one of the oldest and most beautiful in Slovenia. The fourteen painted chapels at the Stations of the Cross and the three crosses at the top stand on an axis connecting Stari grad and Krvavo monument where the provincial scaffold stood beneath the church in Valburga.
