The manor is located on the edge of the slope with vineyards at the edge of the Goriška Brda hills. The feudal court of that place was indirectly mentioned in1170 and directly in 1217. It was named after the Wittelsbachs. The castle was ruled by the Counts of Gorica, and later the Herbersteis, Della Torres, Attems-Petzensteins, and after 1912 the Teuffenbachs. During World War I, the manor was severely damaged. The present late Renaissance manor is newer, from the 17th century. A wide cubus rises a storey and a half above a vaulted cellar. By the side, in front of the eleven axial main façade, two lower tower-like extensions were set up, accentuating the feudal tradition more than protecting the manor. The entrance is accentuated, with its elevated conoidal portal and three connected windows on the first floor. Side extensions were torn down.

Behind the entrance is a wide hall, and around it are empty rooms. All the splendour has disappeared from them, and only a few antique elements of stone frames of the fireplaces, which outside continue into chimneys in the shape of obelisks, have remained. In the interior there is the occasional storehouse, a part of the areas used only temporarily.

In the degraded park there is a small amusement park. Groups of rare trees have been preserved, including magnificent old cypresses, which are among the tallest in Slovenia. The state is planning a better use for the totality. The interior is not arranged for visits.
