The village of Straža is situated four kilometers from Cerkno, a town best known for its traditional Mardi Gras event called “Laufarija” after its unique masqueraders.

At this tourist farm that joined the European “Houses with Tradition” network in 2001 you will be offered homemade dried meat products and vegetables from their own garden, and the hostess will cook simple old farm dishes for you. Her štruklji filled with homemade cottage cheese or walnuts are most delicious, and the famous idrijski žlikrofi is also on the menu.

Near the farm you can visit the Franja Partisan Hospital, climb the nearby hills, borrow bicycles, or swim in the large swimming pool beside the house. Many fishermen enjoy fishing in the Idrijca River. If you wish, you can drive to nearby Cerkno or to Idrija where there is a museum and numerous other points of interest.
 
Along with the 500-year-old renovated farmhouse, there is a new building with rooms and apartments for guests.
