The typical Vipava Valley house of the Cigoj family, with its sleek white arches and stone portal built in 1811, is the oldest in trniče.
 

True to the age of the house, the Cigojs delight in serving their guests traditional, almost forgotten Primorska dishes such as pork filet stuffed with pršut (prosciutto) and wrapped in grape leaves, rabbit with polenta, fried salami in wine sauce, and a variety of Vipava štruklji, strudels, or dumplings, all accompanied by their award-winning wines. 

Children, however, are usually more impressed by the pony rides. Many of the sights in the area such as the Tabor archeological site, the old Huhov mill, an Austrian cemetery, and the reservoir are only a short walk away through the typical karst landscape. The Postojna and Škocjan caves, the Lipica stud farm, and the medieval town of Štanjel are all within an easy driving distance, as are the Soča River and the pilgrimage site of Sveta Gora with its breathtaking view. Guests can also participate in grape picking or winemaking and stay overnight in the newly refurbished guestrooms.
