In the village of Dolenja Vas, the Strajnar family farm is situated by a clear murmuring stream in a green meadow at the edge of a forest - in short, an idyllic setting. The hostess, Cvetka, is a retired cook and enjoys spoiling her guests along with her four grandchildren with her culinary arts.

Her specialties include štruklji with walnut or cottage cheese filling, trout, and veal and vegetable dishes from homemade dairy products and home-grown produce. The Obolnar farm is a favourite spot for athletes who can carry out their training programs or play volleyball in the peaceful setting there and then cool off with a dip in the pool.

Nearby are the Church of Mary with its memorial to F. I. Baraga, the Slovene bishop and missionary to the North American Indians; Trebnje Castle, which is built on Roman foundations dating back to the year 1000; and the pilgrimage path in Zaplaz.
