Dobliče, famous for its lake where the endangered black olm (Proteus anguinus parkelj) lives, is only one of the possible destinations when touring the Bela krajina region; you should definitely make a stop at the Bahor excursion farm, situated on a small hill among vineyards with a beautiful view over the valley.

The farm raises sheep and pigs, and roast lamb and suckling pig are specialties of the house. The hostess’s freshly baked bread and smoked meat items go very well with the excellent Bela Krajina wines, which can be purchased at the farm.

In the summer, you can swim, boat, and fish in the Kolpa River, visit the Lahinja Regional Park, and tour the ruins of Vinica Castle.
