Dvor Mansion

Dvor Mansion is a four-tract three-storey building, surrounded by a park and situtated on the right bank of Sava River in the vicinity of Radece.
The core of the building, which occupies only one tract of today's mansion, remains unchanged from the 16th or 17th century. According to historical sources the original building also had two small corner towers at its front side. Additional three tracts have been added later and an inner arcade courtyard has been designed. While the building's exterior has been completely reshaped during the centuries, parts of the old architectural style have been preserved till present time in its interior. A wooden neorenaissance ceiling, for example, can still be admired in a newer front tract, but there are also preserved wooden ceilings in some rooms of the original mansion. Special attention should be given to an excellent polychrome 19th century wooden ceiling in a second floor saloon.
The owners and the serviceability of the mansion often changed in the past. Dvor Mansion is nowadays an integral part of Youth Correctional Centre Radece.
Origins of the park next to the mansion date back to the second part of the 19th century. Its design is based on an organically led network of paths, with trees planted in groups or individually among them. Dvor Mansion Park's design can be considered a typical representative of the second part of the 19th century park design style, modelled on English landscape style. Dendrological features are park's main asset. Main style features and majority of the park area have been preserved intact despite significant losses of the tree fund in the past.
