The Martin's House is the type of building that dominated in Škofja Loka centuries ago but is now the last surviving example.
The house is known for its Late Gothic portal, ground floor windows, and vaulted entryway.
It is attached to the city wall that Bishop Konrad III ordered built for security in the 14th century.
In this part of the city, the wall is still completely preserved.
Beside the house were a town gate with a guard tower and a bridge across a moat that is still clearly evident today.
