This medieval church features beautifully renovated paintings on the exterior and a charming interior. From the town of Radovljica, it can be seen in the middle of the green slopes on the right bank of the Sava.
The small Church of St Lambert, who is the patron saint of the Ortenburgs, is located in the upper part of the village of Lancovo and serves as a stunning example of a medieval succursal church.
It is thought to have once served as the chapel of the spearmen from Lipnica Castle. Its Gothic vaulted presbytery, which was constructed during the second decade of the sixteenth century, has been preserved. The partially preserved frescoes are from the same period. The frescoes of St Helen and St Ursula, which are located next to the Gothic window behind the high altar, have also been elegantly maintained.
The church was remodelled in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The high-quality entrance portal, made from Peračica Quarry tuff, dates back to the seventeenth century.
