
Slovenia has good air connections with many European cities. The majority of flights arrive at Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, from where you can catch daily flights to cities all over Europe. The airport is also served by two low-cost airlines. Some international flights use the airports in Maribor and Portorož.

Slovenia's most important international
airport is located in Brnik, 25 kilometres from
Ljubljana, the capital. Several foreign carriers fly from the airport but the largest number of flights are operated by Slovenia's only airline,
Adria Airways, a member of the
Star Alliance.
Ljubljana Airport is open every day from 6:00 until 22:00. The airport terminal has a restaurant, a bank, a post office, a Duty-Free shop, boutiques, a tourist agency, a car rental agency, air taxi service, and express shipping company. Numerous carriers offer regular flights to Slovenia: Adria Airways, Austrian Airlines, Swissair / Sabena, Aeroflot, Avioimpex, Montenegro Airlines, Croatia Airlines, Czech Airlines.

Aerodrom Portorož/Portorož Airport
Portorož airport is open from 8.00 to 20.00 Summer time, and from 9.00 to 17.00 Winter time. It is small international airport (runway 1200 m, asphalt, lighted) and it has: Duty free shop, car rental, restaurant, taxi service, hotel and restaurant reservation, air taxi, panorama flights, pilot school.

Maribor Airport is open from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm. The terminal building has a restaurant and a duty-free shop.

Slovenia's national airline carrier Adria Airways

Slovenia's national carrier Adria Airways offers regular schedule flights to most major European cities. Ljubljana is linked to Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Birmingham, London, Dublin, Manchester, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Moscow, Skopje, Sarajevo, Ohrid, Tirana, Istanbul, Podgorica, Prague, Priština, Warsaw, Kiev, Rome, Athens, Oslo, Bucharest, Stockholm ans Madrid.

Since November 19, 2007 the Belgian air company
Brussels Airlines has opened new flights linking Ljubljana with Brussels. Flights are operated daily, twice a day, except on Saturdays.

Airline EasyJet
On April 28th 2004 the low-fare airline
EasyJet started flying on London (Stanstead) - Ljubljana route. The price of return ticket is from 45 EUR and up, and the price of a single ticket from 20 to 30 EUR. Tickets are available from the web page of the airline Easy Jet. Starting in December 2010, easyJet will offer flights from Ljubljana to Milan (Malpensa) and Paris (Charles de Gaulle).
Hungarian national airline carrier Malév
Hungarian national airline carrier
Malév has been flying from Brnik Airport since Monday 3rd May 2004 twice a day at workdays and once a day on Saturdays and Sundays on Budapest - Ljubljana – Budapest route by a rented 33-seat plane SF340. It is especially intended for businessman as they can leave for a business meeting in the morning and return in the evening. From the Bucharest Airport Malev enables good connections to East, South Europe and the Mediterranean. Malév offers competitive flights mainly to Kyiv, Odessa, Chisinau, Bucharest, Sofia, Varna, Athens, Thessalonica, Larnaca, Tel Aviv, Damascus, Beirut, Cairo, and Tripoli...

Airline Austrian Airlines
On March 28th
Austrian Airlines started flying from Brnik Airport. Now the passengers can choose between Adria Airways and the Austrian airline carrier. Austrian Airlines flies to Vienna every day at 8.30 by the plane type Dash 8 -300 Q. It is a connecting flight which enables passengers to reach other destinations from Vienna in the framework of their widespread net of connections.
Turkish Airlines
From 16th January 2006
Turkish Airlines, the Turkish airplane carrier, is flying three times per week between Ljubljana and Istanbul (Istanbul Ataturk Airport), that is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays. Information regarding flights is available on the web page Turkish Airlines where you can also arrange reservations.
Finnish Airline Carrier Finnair
As of 6th April 2007, the Finnish Airline company,
Finnair, is a new regular airline carrier at Ljubljana Airport. Finnair flies between Ljubljana and Helsinki four times a week (on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays) with 76-seat Embraer 170 planes. Ticket prices start at €300 (tax and other fees are not included). Helsinki Vantaa Airport is an excellent starting point for connecting flights to Asia.
French Airline Carrier Air France
Since 15th November 2004, the French national airline carrier
Air France has been flying from Ljubljana Airport three times a day on week days, with two flights on Saturdays and one flight on Sundays. Air France flies Embraer RJ 145 type planes to Charles de Gaulle Airport. These flights enable the continuation of travels within the framework of their wide spread network of connecting flights from Paris. Czech Airline Carrier Czech Airlines
For the fifth consecutive year
Czech Airlines offers flights on the route Ljubljana – Prague – Ljubljana. Its fleet comprises ATR 42 type aircraft.
Polish Airline Carrier LOT
LOT Polish Airlines started offering flights from Brnik Airport two years ago. It flies Embraer RJ 145 type planes on the regular airline connection Ljubljana – Warsaw twice a week: on Thursdays and Sundays.
Serbian airline carrier JAT Airways
Serbian airline carrier
JAT flies on the route Ljubljana – Belgrade – Ljubljana six times a week in the summer time and five times a week in the winter time. The Portorož – Belgrade – Portorož service is operated twice a week. It flies type ATR72 aircraft.
Spanish low-cost airline Vueling
From 25 June 2010 Spanish airline Vueling will be operating a twice-weekly service between Ljubljana and Barcelona (on Tuesdays and Fridays). Flights may be booked online at www.vueling.com or via travel agents.

Panoramic flights
Slovenia has 13 sports airfields, all of which offer
panoramic flights in
light aircraft. Some also offer flights in special
aerobatic aircraft. The best-known airfields include Lesce in Gorenjska, Skoke near Maribor and Rakičan near Murska Sobota. A panoramic flight usually lasts
half an hour although it may last longer if you wish. Experienced pilots can fly you over Mount Triglav or even beyond the borders of Slovenia.
