Zagrajec is situated in the immediate vicinity of Ivanji Grad that is why their history includes many similarities. In the vicinity the successor of the Lombardian rulers Johannes Astolfa had his castle post. The name Zagrajec means behind a castle and gained its name after its position. One of the village’s interesting sights is the pil standing in its centre and the water collector – a well with trough. The lawns and commons around Zagrajca are the hiding places of numerous caverns, trenches and remains of a
railway station from the First World War. The village offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Trieste and the sea.
