The village is situated in the valley of the river Branica, between the hills
Lukovnik (350 m) and Stara gora, and is divided into two lumpy areas:
Gornja vas and Dolnja vas. Between Kodreti and Dolanci is a small stream
Grnščak that flows into Branica. In “Lenišče” near the village is also a
medicinal spring.
Villagers are proud of the monument dedicated to the baron Andrej Čeho-
vin, who was born in Dolanci and was an officer of the Austrian army. The
monument is a work of the sculptor A. Bitežnik, the stonecutter B. Bitežnik
and of the architect M. Fabiani and was hidden from fascists in 1926. In
the village surroundings (on the place called “Popotnik” - hiker) stands a
pil with the Mary of Sveta gora and on the road branch for Dolanci is a pil
with St Cyril and St Methodius.
Automobiles : On the local road Kobdilj
– Vipava, after the village
of Čehovini, take the
turning for Dolanci.
