 Bohinjska Bistrica is the biggest village in Bohinj valley. It has its own primary school, bus and train station ( car train as well ), some shops and stores, a museum. Thera are restaurants, a private pension, camping, ski center Kobla, sports hall, football ground, open tennis courts. You can stay overnight also in many other private rooms and appartements in the village. This information is provided by all tourist information centres in Bohinj. An Aqua Park is in the center of the village, so you can relax and have fun in many swimming pools, sauna, solarium,....
Automobiles : You take a turn to Bled on the main road Ljubljana-Jesenice, after 20 km you reach Bohinjska Bistrica. After 5 km from Bohinjska Bistrica you come to the lake Bohinj.
Railway : There is a railway station in the village; by train you come from the direction Ljubljana ( via Jesenice ) or from Nova Gorica. A car train runs regulary through the Bohinj tunel to Most na Soči. Bus : Buses run from early in the morning till the evening almost every hour to Ljubljana and back. Local buses connect the villages in Bohinj with Bohinjska Bistrica. Airplane : Some distances: Ljubljana airport 50 km, Klagenfurt ( Austria ) 70 km, Trieste ( Italy ) 200 km.
